Anchorsholme Club Bowling

On the borders of both Blackpool and Wyre boroughs, Anchorsholme Bowling and Social Club is an inclusive club with over 100 members that all enjoy the game of crown green bowling. The club welcomes people from all ethnic groups as well as those with disabilities.
New members are welcomed, and taster sessions are available for those that have never tried the game previously. New bowlers are encouraged to attend the Bowling Academy which operates every Sunday morning from 10.00am until 12.00 noon and is for new bowlers of all ages.

The club green is open to members to bowl on all year, except during November and December when maintenance takes place, or when the weather is too bad.
Organised friendly matches (Round Robins) are played between the club members on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons between March and September whilst in-club competitions are also held regularly throughout the year.

Anchorsholme Bowling Club has both male and female teams that take part in local bowling leagues during the summer period. This allows players to visit other greens in the area and test their skills against different players.
During the winter months we move indoors where Short Mat bowls is played on Tuesdays and Carpet Bowls on Wednesdays. These activities are both well attended.
The club also has two teams that take part in the local short mat bowling league during the winter months.

Anchorsholme Bowling and Social Club have six Safeguarding Officers who make sure any possible disputes are resolved quickly and amicably.
We also have two members who have passed the Level One Coaching Course and are qualified to teach beginners the basics of crown green bowling. During 2024 three more members will become Level One Coaches.
